Who Am I?
My name is Mark Goetsch. I have been a practicing enterprise architect since 2003. I have worked for large firms including ABN AMRO Bank, Northern Trust Bank, BMO Harris Bank, Blue Cross Blue Shield of IL, TX, NM, OK, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Jones Lang LaSalle Commercial Realty, Fiserv Insurance Solutions, Wheels, Inc., and DRW Trading.
I am a co-founder of FEAPO, former co-founder and EVP for CAEAP, former President of the Business Architects Association, and founding Father of the World-Wide Institute of Software Architects. During this time I helped the US DOD with their core competency model for enterprise architecture in DODAF II, co-author of the Professional Practices Guide for Enterprise Architecture, and Enterprise Architects Doctrine. I had the privilege of connecting with the IEEE, ACM, ISO, IIBA, Canadian Processing Society, British Computing Society, Australian Computer Society, Gartner, Forrester, Cutter Consortium, US GOVT, and US DOD as well as a number of enterprise architecture experts across the world.
I am finishing my Doctorate in Business Administration, from DePaul University Kellstadt School of Business accredited by the AACSB. I have a MSC in Systems Strategy and Management from Northwestern University, a MS in Computer Science from DePaul University, and BA In History from Spring Hill College. My research is on the social networks of professionals within a business context. I taught graduate courses in the CDM School of DePaul University from 2006-2016.
